The human body can generate a large amount of force in strikes when the technique is right. However, none of that force matters if it doesn’t land. How and where a strike lands is what matters. This is why in boxing some flush punches does not take down the opponent. The jaw and chin are a weak point, and it doesn’t take much force to rock the brain, but it needs to land right.
Sometimes, we see someone throw a powerful strike just right and it also lands just right. This is what we call a devastating hit. A great example in boxing is the Khan vs. Canelo match, in which Canelo landed a devastating hit in the form of an overhand right on Khan’s chin.
